Trump's Bullshit Machine is Imploding
It’s the stubborn reality of rising prices that will bring Trump down

In 2024, Donald Trump campaigned on pure unadulterated bullshit - and won because of it.
And ever since he declared victory, he’s been governing on the same bullshit.
But now he’s no longer winning - and his bullshit machine is starting to implode.
Don’t expect the corporate media to report on it, because they have all surrendered to Trump.
I’d try to compile a complete list, but Brandolini’s Law would defeat me.
So here’s a short list to start the conversation - I’ll leave the rest to the Interwebs.
Tariffs
Tariffs are the centerpiece of Trump’s economic and foreign policies.
In April, Trump announced he completed trade deals with 200 countries. He Lied.
Trump promised tariffs would bring millions of manufacturing jobs back to America. He lied.
Trump promised tariffs would be paid by foreign countries. He lied.
Trump promised tariffs would fill the U.S. Treasury. He lied.
Most spectacularly, Trump insisted he had the power to impose all of these tariffs without an act of Congress. He lied.
Trump is furious at the court that declared his unilateral tariffs illegal. He says the ruling will destroy America.
It’s too soon to say, but here’s a safe prediction: he lied.
Ukraine
Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine on Day 1 - if not sooner.
He told the world that Zelensky started the war, not Putin. He lied.
To get a deal, he even rolled out the (literal) red carpet for Putin in Alaska, and was caught on a hot mic saying “Putin really wants to make a deal for me.” He lied.
The next day, Putin attacked Ukraine with even more intensity.
Still, Trump promised Putin would stop attacking in 1-2 weeks. He lied.
Wind Energy
Trump’s wind energy bullshit is literally incredible. The Guardian has the receipts.
It’s the ‘most expensive form of energy.’
Turbines drive whales ‘loco.’
They kill birds
Turbines only last eight years
They’re made in China
They’re ‘killing us’
On every single point - and several more - Trump lied.
Prices
The crown turd of Trump’s bullshit was his promise to reduce prices on Day 1.
Of course Trump lied. But more importantly, his own MAGA supporters are finally calling bullshit, as Kos explains.
It started with a Truth Social post on August 31.
Remarkably, Trump’s own devoted followers started calling bullshit in the comments. First this:
Sorry @realDonaldTrump. I love and support you, but food prices, rent, insurance are all sky high and continue to climb. Average Americans cannot afford groceries. We are suffering more and more and working parents are going without eating so their kids can eat. It’s not good POTUS.
Then this:
Think we need to start protesting at the White House to show Trump that prices have not dropped because Trump is being misled and he’s not reading our messages to find out the truth.
We just need to find a way to get through to @realDonaldTrump because this isn’t working
Then more and more of the same.

“Try and buy meat and tell me prices are down ! It’s ridiculously high!”
“Prices have not dropped!! The only thing that has dropped is the quality and quality of anything you pay for [...] Love @realDonaldTrump, but he’s got this one wrong. Think he needs to get out and talk to the people rather than look a fake figures”

“This is not true for the average working American. Nothing has really gone down! Homeowners insurance premiums are crazy high now with a standard 2% deductible with shitting payouts on claims. I’m saving my money right now to pay my $5300 deductible to eventually get my hail damage roof replaced. What happened to all that talk about doge refunds? I could really use one of those checks right now.”
These complaints are not mere noise - they go to the very heart of electoral politics, and could end Trump and his MAGA movement.
As Kos explains,
The cost of living is the battlefield where families are bleeding every single day. Democrats need to hammer that reality over and over.
If we do, Trump’s bullshit machine will naturally go into overdrive.
[But] if we do that, no propaganda machine in the world will be able to convince voters otherwise. Because when people feel the difference in their wallets, they don’t need a pundit to tell them what’s real. Trump can bullshit about “way down” prices all day long. But reality isn’t on his side; it’s on ours.
